Meet the mentors: Yip Siu

Here we introduce one of the London Practice Forum mentors delivering 1-to-1 mentoring sessions and “CV surgeries” through a series of free, regular and bookable slots.

“Access into architectural education and sustained progression within the profession continues to have various barriers, particularly to those of underrepresented backgrounds. From having access to role models in senior leadership positions to finding a critical design voice that is attuned to local and cultural concerns/specificities that are often lost at city and national scale discussions, I'm hoping that my recent experiences in architectural education can help develop emerging talent and to champion for their causes, from a wealth of socio-cultural perspectives.

Having recently completed my Part 2 from the Bartlett, my interests lie in examining the pedagogical potentials of architecture in society to develop systemic forms for democratic living and engagement. I am currently an Architectural Assistant at alma-nac. “
